IV. Teams
a. Registration
i. Teams must be properly registered with USA Hockey/ affiliate (WAHA/MAHA) no later than December 31
ii. All players must be registered with USA Hockey and a copy of the Transmittal sheet must be faxed or mailed to the Commissioner before the players begin practice (revised 4/28/07)
iii. Use of a non-rostered/suspended player
1. That player will be suspended for 3 games
2. Team will be fined $500.00 and forfeit all points that would have accumulated using that player
3. Fine must be paid before the next scheduled game
b. Classification/Eligibility
i. Teams shall be classified Adult US
ii. Restricted to US citizens
1. Either born or naturalized with final papers
iii. Limited as to exclude any reinstated Professionals and any player who plays that current season on a NCAA (D-1, II, III), Junior College, or College Club team
iv. No player under the age of 18
1. Who has not graduated high school
2. Or the class one would be in has not graduated
v. GLHL will allow up to 3 non-US players per team
1. If non-US players are married to US citizens they are no longer considered an import after the first year
a. Must have a green card in possession
c. Rosters
i. Teams may roster a maximum of 25 players
1. Only those players may dress for GLHL games
ii. Teams must submit a roster to the Secretary/Treasurer/Publicist prior to their first GLHL game
iii. Final rosters must be submitted no later than December 31
1. Changes must be submitted as made
2. Not allowed after December 31
iv. Players must provide identification upon request
v. GLHL games shall be forfeited until rosters are properly submitted
vi. NOTE: 5-game rule for tournament eligibility
vii. All teams shall receive a USA Hockey roster of all league teams
viii. After December 31 a team with league approval may add a player from College or Juniors
1. The player must be eligible and cannot be double rostered
2. Commissioner will be responsible for polling league teams for permission to add or not to add
d. Player Rights
i. Any player on a GLHL team is the property of that team
ii. If a player is to play for another GLHL team, that player must have permission from the coach of the team he is rostered with, and the commissioner
iii. If he plays without permission, he will be suspended from the GLHL for the rest of the season
1. If it is near the end of that season, he may be suspended for the following season, time period to be ruled on by the Commissioner
e. Colors/Name
i. Each team shall have 2 sets of uniforms
1. Light (home)
2. Dark (visitor)
ii. Team jerseys, pants, helmets, and socks should match on all players
1. If teams do not follow this By-Law they shall receive a warning from the Commissioner
2. If a second and third warning is issued a $50.00 and $100.00 fine shall be assessed
iii. Any changes in team colors and/or names must receive prior approval by GLHL members
